What types of enterprises are being targeted for audit by the SAT?
According to the listed criteria, audit teams will zoom in on enterprises that undertake a relatively large number of business transactions with affiliates, run losses for two years or more, or achieve lower profits than other enterprises in the same industry. Following an inspection by an audit team and subsequent adjustments to taxable income, the enterprise being inspected should receive a notice from the relevant tax authority detailing the tax adjustment based on their findings. The adjusted tax amount must be paid within the specified time limit unless an extension is approved, otherwise a fine will be imposed.
