On December 11, 1989, the Chinese Patent Office promulgated Announcement No. 27, definitely stipulating that inventions-creations involving the following aspects will not be granted the utility model patent:
1. Various methods, usage of products;
2. Products with no fixed shape;
3. Products with pure material replacement;
4. Unmovable structures;
5. Products with only plane pattern design as feature;
6. System composed of two or more instruments or equipments;
7. Pure circuits;
8. Curative appliances for the human body.
