What standards does the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development provide for?
(a): The OECD is a voluntary code of conduct that mandates environmental protection and certain social obligations. To be compliant with the OECD a company must contribute to development of the host country, respect human rights, and refrain from discriminatory practices and excessive involvement in local politics. Companies must also recognize the rights of their employees to unionize and work in a safe and healthy environment, and refrain from using child labor.
