What is the impact of FDI on China’s economy?
Joint ventures and wholly foreign owned investment enterprises play a large role in China’s economy. Foreign investment enterprises account for about one half of all China’s industrial output and for about 3.47 percent of all tax revenues in the industrial and commercial sector. There are 56,378 foreign investment enterprises in operation, employing about 18.9 million people (10% of the non-rural labor population).
